Vaishali Kanojia is an environmental researcher and policy professional with advanced academic training in public policy and environmental sustainability, and extensive experience supporting global biodiversity and climate policy processes. Her work includes contributions to IPBES Task Force activities on Scenarios and Models, global biodiversity scenario development, Nature Futures Framework database work, and forest policy analysis.

She has previously led research and project management roles at Development Alternatives, contributing to national and international initiatives on ecotourism, climate communication, water resource management, sustainable agriculture, and large-scale ecosystem restoration. Vaishali has authored and contributed to several policy and research publications, including India’s Pond Rejuvenation Programme, the Integrated Water Resources Management – Citizen Science Manual, and analytical pieces on land degradation, community radio, and sustainable farming.

She has also played an active role in the Think20 (T20) process, contributing to policy papers on integrating Indigenous Knowledge Systems into global policy frameworks, scaling adaptation finance through multi-stakeholder partnerships and decentralised action plans, and addressing food insecurity in conflict-affected regions. Vaishali has represented India in global forums such as UNESCO’s Greening Education Partnership and regularly undertakes capacity-building and stakeholder engagement activities. Her work focuses on bridging science, policy, and societal action through strong research communication and project leadership.

In Symbiosphere, Vaishali manages the projects, coordinates with field teams and ensure timely delivery of project findings.
