Shabarni is an experienced professional with more than 15 years of experience in the environmental and social sectors. She started her career as a project coordinator for a UNDP project on solid waste management in Delhi and has since worked as an Environment Expert with notable multinational and bilateral agencies such as JICA, GIZ, MoEF, IFC, ADB and WWF India. Shabarni has conducted research on waste management in Tokyo and served as a co-speaker for the TOFTigers DMC Sustainability Awareness Tutorial session. She is empanelled as a Technical Expert for the Technical Due Diligence Assistance Facility developed by Climate Tech Investment Network in partnership with Climate Collective Foundation and also worked as a National Short-term Expert for the international consortium of consultants for the Cities Combating Plastic Waste entering Marine Environment (CCPME) Project for GIZ.
By training, Shabarni is an anthropologist with an MPhil in Environmental Sciences. She has completed a certified e-course in Environmental and Social Framework - ESF Fundamentals, 2020 by The Work Bank Group.
She works as a senior waste management expert for several projects dealing with composting, plastic waste, circular economy, Compressed Biogas, etc. In Symbiosphere, Shabarni deals with R & D and multilateral project management on circular economy, sustainable nature-based tourism, and solid waste management.
Shabarni is a trained classical dancer and loves travelling.
