Mrittika is an environmental professional and strategist with over 8 years of experience working at the intersection of nature and society. She has extensively worked in the areas of water resource management, nature-human interactions and mental well-being, climate change adaptation and rural development and planning.
She is a graduate of Kyoto University, Japan and was a JSPS UNU postdoctoral fellow at the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU IAS) and the University of Tokyo. Mrittika worked as an Assistant Professor for more than three years at the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Kyoto University, Japan. She has published more than 40 international scientific articles and two co-edited books.
With a wide spectrum of international experience with her, Mrittika moved back to India and co-founded Symbiosphere with Shabarni. At Symbiosphere, she is responsible for producing evidence-based policy actions, managing multipronged and multidimensional projects on broader scales and facilitating research and development in the fields of water resource management, ecosystem services, climate change adaptation, nature-human interactions, Nature-based Solutions and rural development.
Mrittika is a trained singer, an ardent reader and loves spending time with her kids.
